COLLEGE SEARCH STEPS
You know where you are now, and you know where you want to be-but how do I get there?
Here are a few basic steps that you need to follow when planning for your future.
EXPLORE!
Look at different colleges. Think about what you want in a college. Go and visit the college campus. These colleges you are considering could be a place in which you spend a lot of your time. Make sure you enjoy the campus!
APPLY!
Apply to the schools which you are considering. You could apply for two, or you could apply for ten! Make sure to keep in mind though that most schools charge an application fee.
FILL OUT FAFSA
This is crucial! FAFSA is a free application for federal student aid. This makes sure that you get access to all the free money (grants) that you are eligible for. You can begin filling this out in January-fill it out asap.
APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP
There is no reason not to search for free money! Scholarship can be both need-based and merit-based. There are plenty of online sites that can help you dig up some scholarships that could be perfect for you. Remember, if using one of these sites, DO NOT PAY MONEY! Below are a few great free scholarship searches.
