In October of 2010, a group of community leaders began meeting to discuss the idea of creating a new not-for-profit organization in Lancaster/Fairfield County that would focus on helping students access post-secondary education. Approximately 60 counties in Ohio have a similar college access programs. After discussion with key community leaders, educational professionals, other access programs, and the Ohio College Access Network (OCAN), it was decided that Lancaster/Fairfield County needed an access program that would work with students to help remove barriers to post-secondary education. Fairfield County College Bound was born.
